What is Filtration Pressure Value Tester?
The polymer-based mixture containing a certain concentration of pigment flows through an extruder equipped with a melt pump and a porous plate-supported filter assembly. A melt pressure sensor is installed at the front of the filter assembly. The maximum difference between the initial pressure (test base material) and the pressure measured by the sensor before the filter assembly after the melt pump is the filter pressure value (FPV). Using its size to characterize the dispersion effect of the masterbatch, the smaller the FPV value, the better the dispersion.

Working Principle Of Filtration Pressure Value Tester
The pressure filter value tester is mainly composed of a 20 single screw extrusion system, a melt pump system, a screen changer (including filter screen) and an automatic control system.
A melt pressure sensor is installed in front of the pump to form a pressure-screw-speed control loop; the screen changer can be quickly disassembled and assembled, and the porous plate supports multiple layers of filter screens, which is convenient for quick replacement of filter screens. The pressure changes of the melt pressure sensor during polymer extrusion can be tested and recorded through special software, and FPV filter pressure value test curves and reports can be generated.
