Operation and precautions of the torque rheometer

Torent rheometer is the ideal equipment to study material flow, plasticity, heat, shear stability, the rheometer provides closer to the actual processing dynamic measurement method, can be continuous, accurate and reliable to determine the rheology of material, such as multi-component material mixing, thermosetting resin crosslinking curing, elastomer vulcan, material dynamic stability and the influence of screw speed on the system processing performance.


1. Boot steps

1. Install experimental platform (mixer or extruder) according to experiment type or purpose. Connect the heat sensor and the heating power supply interface.

2. Close the main power supply to turn on the computer, run the rheometer control platform software, and choose the correct experimental platform.

3. Select or cancel the corresponding measurement and control.mixer platform shall select T1, T2, T3, Tm, Tq and Sp and cancel T4 P; for capillary die extruder, all 8 options are required.

4. Click the "Start communication" button to start the communication, and set the experimental temperature and output speed. For the mixer platform, the correct temperature settings should be consistent for the 3 zones. For the extruder platform, the temperature of the 4 zones should be set from low to high, and the temperature difference between the zones should be limited to below 30℃ as far as possible, otherwise the rheometer may be difficult to control the temperature smoothly.

5. After setting the value, click the "Start heating" button to make the rheometer start heating.

6. When the rheometer is heated to the set temperature and is stable, click the "Start Motor" button to start the motor.7. When the temperature of the rheometer reaches the set value and has been stable for 10min, the output speed of the motor has also reached the set value and is stable, and the experimental operation can be started.

1. The rheometer shutdown step shall stop the motor, heating, communication, control program, the rheometer power supply and the computer successively.

2. After the test is completed, clean up the work well. Remove the mixer and remove the cavity material with the motor stops. For some materials that may corrode the extruder cavity, clean with pure resin.

Matters need attention

1. When installing the experimental platform, attention should be paid to the connection order of the heat sensor and the heating power supply interface. The wrong connection order will lead to the failure to control the temperature correctly.

2. When the temperature of the mixer or extruder is more than 10℃ lower than the set temperature, the residual material in the equipment may not * melt, and the rotating of the motor may damage the equipment. The temperature and motor output speed must be set and stable before the experiment can begin.

3. The mixing device shall be cleaned after each experiment, and the rotor in the mixing device shall not be reversed; R to R. L vs. L. Remember to turn off the power supply.

4. After the experiment, add a small amount of lubricant, and then remove and clean the mixer
