1. Product description
The polymer melt is a pseudoplastic fluid with the flow characteristics of shear thinning. The relationship between its viscosity and the shear rate constitutes the general viscosity. Viscosity can fully characterize the fluidity of polymer melt, and the processing characteristics of polymer depend on its flow behavior
The extrusion capillary rheometer can be used to measure the viscosity of the polymer melt. The basic principle is to use an appropriate method to make the polymer melt flow stably from a capillary. In this process, measure the pressure drop generated when the melt flows through the capillary tube and the outflow per unit time at the same time, and then perform the appropriate calculation on these measured values to obtain the general viscosity.
There are two ways to make the polymer melt pass through the capillary tube, one is to use a piston to advance, the other is to use a screw to extrude. Screw extrusion measurement is closer to the extrusion processing environment, especially for materials that must undergo strong shear to form a uniform melt (such as a mixture of several materials)
