Process principles and advantages
As advanced polymer materials continue to evolve, traditional single-layer films can no longer meet modern industry demands for superior processing performance, enhanced aesthetics, and specialized functionalities. To address these challenges, multi-component co-extrusion technology has emerged as the leading solution-delivering stronger, more versatile, and higher-quality polymer films.
The polymer film co-extrusion process involves using multiple extruders to supply different molten material flows, which are then combined and co-extruded in a composite head to create a multi-layer film. A small, precise three-layer co-extrusion blown film experimental line uses precision extrusion and high-performance blown film molding technology. It adds three different materials or colors of plastic particles into three separate feeders. After melting and mixing into a fluid state, the materials pass through a specially designed three-layer co-extrusion die head, where high-pressure gas blows out a continuous film.

Equipment structure
The compact 3-layer coextrusion blown film system features three high-precision single-screw extruders with 25mm diameter screws (28:1 L/D ), a multilayer coextrusion die, and complete blown film peripherals. Utilizing premium 38CrMoAlA nitrided steel construction for enhanced wear resistance and durability, the extruders achieve maximum speeds of 120 rpm, with all critical electrical components sourced from internationally recognized manufacturers.
Equipment features
The equipment is driven by a servo motor, with stable plasticization, good consistency and low noise.
The three-layer co-extrusion blown film die head adopts a concentric sleeve design, which can independently adjust the width, thickness and layer ratio.
The flow channel is smooth without dead corners and material stagnation, and the material is discharged evenly.
The film blowing auxiliary machine integrates functions such as traction, trimming, and winding. The servo drive of the film blowing frame can adjust the height up and down, which is convenient for film guiding and process control.
